Some of the opportunities to earn BCP's include the following:
What is a Band Credit Point?
Each band student can have a Band Credit Points account (BCP's) established in their name. A Band Credit Point (BCP) is the equivalent to a one dollar in fees. (i.e. $55.55 = 55.55 BCP's). As the student (or even their parents or family) participates in the various fundraisers, points are recorded in their account. These points can be used by the band student to offset the costs associated with being a member of the band. At the end of the school year, any remaining points in the account are rolled over into the next school year.
Some examples of fundraisers that earn BCP's are: working at the concession stands at both the Charlotte Knights and the Carolina Panthers balls games. Typically at these games the students (and/or parents) earn 5 band credit points per hour. Selling cokes and hotdogs on behalf of the band at the school's football games is another BCP earning opportunity as are the annual group fundraiser such as fruit sales and pizza sales.
Some examples of where BCP's can be used are:
Semester fees
Band Camp fees
BOA (Bands of America) Trip fees
Uniform fees
Spring Band Trip fees
And other special fees accessed by the band program.
For more answers to where and how BCP’s can be used consult one of your Boosters officers or the Band Handbook.
