2006 COMPETITION MARCHING SHOW
The Northwestern Purple Regiment is proud to present "Gratitude" featuring the music of Leonard Bernstein, specifically from his mass; a theatre piece written in 1971 at the request of Jacqueline Kennedy Onasis for the opening of the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts. The composition mixes classical, rock, pop and Broadway. This piece conveys our central theme of Gratitude. Nothing is more important or as often overlooked as the need for gratitude in our daily lives.
This year's show will be very unusual and exciting. We will be "one of a kind". Mr. Tim Hinton says the show will be very different but very beautiful. It is a dream of his for our band to have, produce and perform this show.
The show will be in three parts:
Part I; Gratitude
Part II; Reverence
Part III; Joy
As the season unfolds, more details and the scores from the competitions will be posted on the Purple Regiment's website . . . . let's make the 2006 Marching Band Show another winner for Northwestern High School, the Purple Regiment, Tim Hinton and Larry Wells & his staff!
