PRIVATE LESSON REQUEST FORM

Private lessons at Northwestern is an opportunity for students to receive individual instruction on their instrument from an accomplished musician. Through this program, students will improve such basic skills as tone production, technical facility, and sight-reading skills. The student will also gain a deeper appreciation of the musical nuances needed to enhance the possibility of college music scholarships which are available to students who are not music majors at many colleges and universities.

The private lessons are scheduled once a week in the Northwestern High School band room. The lessons will be 30 minutes long and are taught by Winthrop University music students and local professional musicians. The lesson fees range from $10 to $20 a lesson depending on the experience of the teacher. Most lessons are scheduled between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. and the day will be determined by the availability of the teacher. We have contacted teachers who are both qualified and dependable and they expect that the students who enroll in the private lesson program to be on time and prepared for their lessons.
